As you can see in my gallery, this week I departed from graphite, trying out watercolor pencils at the figure drawing group.  I didn't necessarily have water & brush in mind when I did this, just wanted some color besides silver gray.  Though now that I've scanned these I'm considering toying around with the brush and water to see what else I can do with them.  Online here these seem too light with little contrast.  I expect the brush will help emphasize the values there.  Anybody watching this good with watercolor?

I got to go to figure drawing group last night again.  I've only been able to go three times since hot summertime.  It was a great session (excellent model).  My drawing wasn't at my best, but acceptable. My problem is I seem to be unable to devote any regular time to drawing.  Often, getting out to the figure drawing group session is the only time I get for it. Our group like many, has the model in the center of the studio and all the artists are scattered around the room.  So everybody always has a different view of each pose.  Sometimes the view makes for a great study, other times it's mostly a chair. Sorry but I'm a computer programmer and this is really annoying... Either DA has a weird concept of "Popularity" or their View by Popularity feature is horribly broken.  Anybody know which? Last night I submitted a couple of new drawings :thumb156868134: and :thumb156867328:.  At the moment they've been in DA for approximately 18 hours.  They're categorized as Traditional Art > Drawings > Portraits & Figures. But when I go to browse the Portraits & Drawings submitted in the last 24 hours, sorted by popularity, they are NOT there. These two drawings have 24 and 22 views respectively.  So I have to go a few pages into the list and I click on
